Initialement paru en 1981, puis réédité en 1992, la compilation « Cologne Zulu Festival » témoigne d’un moment historique pour la musique sud-africaine. Pour la première fois, Ladysmith Black Mambazo et Juluka (Johnny Clegg et Sipho Mchunu) se sont produits sur la même scène en Europe, exactement à Cologne, en Allemagne, à l’occasion du » Zulu Festival ». A l’écoute de ces enregistrements de toute beauté, Paul Simon contacta Ladysmith Black Mambazo qui participa à l’enregistrement de l’album « Graceland » et à la tournée mondiale du musicien américain en 1986.
After listening to this album, Paul Simon contacted Ladysmith Black Mambazo and asked them to participate to the recording of « Graceland » and to his world tour in 1986.
