Les Frères Smith

Fondé en 2000 à Paris, en France, Les frères Smith sont un collectif d’une douzaine de musiciens. Ils ont lancé un genre musical qu’ils appellent « Afrikanbeat », de l’afro-groove ou afro-fusion intégrant soul, funk, jazz, afro-beat nigérian (de Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Tony Allen), highlife ghanéen, musique mandingue ou encore éthio-jazz (jazz éthiopien), avec des incursions reggae.

Leurs textes chantés en français, en anglais ou en arabe dénoncent les politiciens véreux, le capitalisme, la corruption, l’injustice ou appellent au respect de l’environnement et à la vérité.
