En 2000, le label Melt 2000 sort « Respect », un album hommage à Robert “Doc” Mthalane (1953-1998) dit “le Jimmy Hendrix d’Afrique du Sud”, réunissant le percussionniste Mabi Thobejane, la chanteuse Busi Mhlongo, le guitariste Madala Kunene le batteur Brice Wassy ou encore le musicien-chanteur et ingénieur du son Dan Mampone et le guitariste Papa Noël.
